Hey there and welcome to Return of the Mac! So glad you have to decided to take the time out of your day to explore my little creative outlet. Here I’ll be writing about all of my style finds, world adventures and sharing my own personal tricks and tips for both. My infinitely curious heart is always ready to up and set out on new adventures, and this blog is the beginning of one!
A Little About Me
Writing about yourself isn’t an easy task but I figured it was a necessary one for my first blog post, so here goes nothing! My name is Mackenzie and in the brief 23 years that I’ve been alive, I have lived in 6 states and over 16 houses (literally can’t keep track of them). It was a long and tedious journey, but I finally found a place to call home and currently reside in Brooklyn, NY. After attending 3 separate high schools in 3 different states, I was longing for anything that felt like a home. I set off for college and quickly realized I was in a place that just wasn’t meant for me. I then went off to try and be a nanny overseas living in London, but that quickly fell apart (a story for another day) and I ended up lost back in Virginia with my family. After a year or so of looking to find myself, I got the greatest offer ever and took a live-in nanny position here in Brooklyn, where I fell in love with New York City. I currently can’t imagine living anywhere else in the world, and that is a crazy concept to hear myself say.
I am the oldest of 10 children (yes I did just say I have 9 younger brothers and sisters), and naturally this helped me to become great with kids. I have dreams to one day be an elementary school teacher but am currently very happy with what I think is the greatest job in the world, being a nanny. I love every minute of my job but really struggled moving to a city where the only 3 humans that I knew were a baby and her parents. After many ambitious ventures in the city, I was super blessed to make a few friends and meet the most wonderful guy in the world, which in turn led me to many more friendships. I am so excited to continue my journey in this amazing city, which has given me so much, and to share it with all of you!
