As a New Year begins and I start trying to set new goals and better take care of myself, I find myself thinking back on last year and the great products I discovered for my skin and hair. A huge part of being “fashionable” is having great looking locks and a shining smiling face in addition to the pretty clothes. One of my goals for this year is to find the perfect skin regimen that works for me and to really stick to it. During your mid twenties is the perfect time to start making sure you preserve your youthful skin! (I’ll be sure to keep y’all updated on everything I try and what my end results are!!!)
In the last year, I did have tons of amazing make up and hair care finds that became part of my daily routine, and I’m so excited to share my top 10 beauty finds of the year with you guys! These are in no particular order, but are all products I truly love and use consistently.
This one might be my favorite find of the year. I suffer from ridiculously chapped lips, like I’m talking peeling and flaking off everyday, and have never understood why. It’s a year round problem for me which is crazy as I drink 72+ ounces of water a day, BUT this has been life changing! I use it 3 or 4 times a week and just apply a thick layer before bed and it has done wonders for me. It keeps my lips moisturized and smooth and actually makes them feel plumper when I wake up!
Lip Mask –
My all time fave replacement for body wash. This shower gel not only cleanses, but leaves you smelling absolutely incredible and feeling silky smooth. It’s super moisturizing, and I recently started using it to shave my legs and they are so incredibly soft, even in this chilly winter weather!
Shower Oil –
Also such a game changer! I had never understood the dry shampoo craze until about 6 months ago when I first tried this stuff. I had used several drug store brands and just found my hair become flaky and full of white dust, but remained oily. Living Proof is AMAZING and has changed my everyday hair for the better. I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week now and don’t have to worry about looking like a slob when I don’t have time to redo it!
Dry Shampoo –
This stuff has done wonders for preserving my blonde! I seriously could add an extra month between coloring because of how bright this keeps my blonde and how much it helps reduce brassiness.
Brightening Treatment –
Clearly this tube is basically empty haha. I LOVE Tula skin care. It will for sure be the first brand I try to expand my daily skin routine with. This wash is amazing and actually leaves my skin feeling totally refreshed. Their line is made with probiotics, which I fully believe are the key to healthy skin!
Face Wash –
Talk about worth the price-tag. I love Charlotte Tilbury and this product is one of the main reasons for that. I have super dark circles and even with great concealer they would start showing about half way through the day. This setting powder has fixed that problem for me and made my everyday face makeup look so much smoother!
Setting Powder –
One of the most talked about make up products I have ever seen, and I have zero clue as to why I waited so long to jump on the bandwagon. Again, my dark circles are hereditary and atrocious, but this is the first concealer that I have felt truly brightens my under eyes! It also is amazing to help in contouring your nose. I have orangey undertones and wear the color
I love this thing. I had been using a Target bought, $23 curling iron for the last few years and just felt like it was taking way too long and killing my hair. I got this thing on sale at a crazy price and can say it’d be worth every penny at full price. I have the 1.25” automatic rotating iron, and as cool as it is, I honestly like the curls I make on my own better. The single pass barrel is cheaper and would be just as good!
Curling Iron –
Back to my hair feeling like it was full of breakage, this was another solution I found to that problem! The coils help to not pull out and break strands of hair, while still holding it up. And it doesn’t leave marks on your arm and cut off circulation like a typical elastic.
Hair Ties –
I have written about this mascara before, but again, I always come back to it. 2018 was a year of trying to find the biggest and best eyelashes for me, and no matter how many different brands I tried, I always resort to this.
Hope you enjoyed reading about my favorite beauty finds of the year, and maybe found something here that you’ve been looking for too!
