The most instagramable spot in DUMBO, and one of my favorite views in the city. You can find this picture perfect spot by taking the F train into Brooklyn and getting off at the York St stop. Then take a right, followed by a quick left to walk down York St, and you’ll reach Washington St to look up to see this view! If you walk over toward the water you’ll also find the merry go round, an amazing waterfront view, and a gorgeous shot of the Brooklyn Bridge and lower Manhattan (this is the Manhattan Bridge behind me). When you get off the subway at York St, you can also spot the giant “yes” mural under the overpass to the left of you, the opposite direction from Washington St. If you wander around the neighborhood, you’ll find several sweet little coffee shops as well as tons of colorful, bright murals and cobble stone streets. This stop also brings you to the entrance of the Brooklyn Bridge. I personally think the view walking over into Manhattan is ten times better than walking from the city into Brooklyn, and if you’re staying in the city, is a fun and scenic way to get back into Manhattan! You can make a whole day out of exploring this area!
